Hike: 10.25 miles around Cheeseboro Canyon

This hike starts at the Cheeseboro (or Cheseboro? Signs have both spellings) trail head at 5792 Chesebro Road, Agoura, CA 91301, less than five minutes from the 101 Freeway, just north of Los Angeles.

As you turn onto Cheseboro road, you'll see overflow parking, which is often more crowded than the actual parking lot up the road. Parking is free.

There are several trail options from short, 1 mile loops to all day hikes. We followed this route up the Cheeseboro Canyon Trail to the Sheep Corral Trail, down Paolo Comado Trail and back through the Ranch Connector Trail.

We went in late March and there were a few poppies and other wildflowers blooming along the trail. The trail is green in the spring, but will dry up through summer. 

The hike took about 3 1/2 hours. The trail is mostly easy-moderate, but with some very steep sections.  

There is no water or restrooms along the trail, so be sure to bring whatever you need.

Afterwards, it's less than a 10 minute drive to Ladyface Alehouse and Brasserie. We tried the Ladyface IPA, LA Blonde Ale and the "Whiskey Mango Foxtrot" seasonal cask. We ended up getting a growler of the Blonde to take home.  The growler bottle was $12 and the fill $14. 

 

 

Gear Gab:

Adam and I both wore our Teton 2L Hydration Pack, which is 50% great, 50% not great. For the price (currently $20 on Amazon), it seems unbeatable and Adam enjoys his. However, this doesn't work well for busty ladies. Though the chest strap is adjustable, it's not adjustable enough to really work for me. I also get a lot of chaffing under my arms from the way the straps are pushed back and displaced to accommodate the boobage.
